Bruno Fernandes has been an absolute superstar for Manchester United ever since joining the club in January of 2020. And over that period of time, he has probably been the club’s best player. On top of his game, he is without doubt one of Premier League’s standout stars. But for all of the Portuguese playmaker’s brilliance, he poses a problem to the Red Devils at this point of time as well.

Fernandes has been nowhere near the top of his game this season, especially in the Premier League. And while his numbers in the Champions League might make for impressive reading, overall, he has not been able to recapture his form from the past season-and-a-half in Manchester United colours.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Fernandes has scored 5 goals and provided 3 assists in 17 Premier League appearances in this campaign.

And it must also be pointed out that he scored a hattrick in the opening game against Leeds United. He has only scored twice in the league since then.

Fernandes has already proven himself at Manchester United. It has to be said though that on current form, one has to question whether he should be starting every week for the club.

Not only is Fernandes not providing a final product but his performances leave a lot to be desired as well.

If Ralf Rangnick is to guide Manchester United back into the top four of the Premier League, one of the first things that he needs to do is find a way to get the best out of Fernandes once again.

He needs to be given minutes on the pitch to find his form. But at the same time, there are other players at the club as well, who should get a run out in the first-team, and let’s see if they bring more to the table than what Fernandes is doing at the moment.
