Manchester United’s hopes of breaking into the top four of the Premier League were handed a huge boost with their 3-1 win over Burnley at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo and Scott McTominay scored for the Red Devils, while the visitors conceded an own goal as well. And while Ralf Rangnick’s side were still not at their best, they must have take a lot of heart from the positive result.

In the position that the team are in right now, they need points, no matter how they come. And at the end of the day, this was a huge result for their season.

With Chelsea and West Ham United both struggling in recent times, there is a massive chance for Manchester United to climb further up the table and maybe break into the top four, if they can go on a good run of results.

It remains to be seen if they can do that. But this win was certainly a step in the right direction for them.

One has to admit that there was a hint of luck involved in this win for Manchester United, especially when it comes to their goals.

But at the end of the day, luck is a big part of any sport and Manchester United must have been delighted to have it on their side in the game against Burnley.

And it is safe to say that they will be hoping for the same to happen frequently, as they aim towards making a run up the Premier League table. One thing is for sure, no Manchester United fan will be complaining about the result.
