Manchester United have one of the best forward departments in the world right now. They have the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial capable of playing at striker. But at the same time, the club might need to make an addition there in the near future and have been linked with a potential move for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

Ronaldo and Cavani are two of the greatest players of this generation but neither of them are in their primes right now. Martial looks headed for the Old Trafford exit door while Rashford and Greenwood have been linked with moves away as well.

On the other hand, Haaland is arguably the most exciting talent in the world right now. He has been incredible since joining Borussia Dortmund and there is expected to be a transfer race for his signature next summer, with most of Europe’s biggest clubs involved.

Manchester United have been linked with Haaland for a while now and it appears that they have been handed a boost by Bayern Munich, who might not be in the race for him. Fabrizio Romano tweeted out comments that Oliver Kahn recently made to Süddeutsche Zeitung:

The comments do suggest that Bayern Munich might be ready to carry on with Robert Lewandowski as their striker, who has arguably been the best player in the world over the past two years.

Of course, several players have made the jump from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich over the years, including Lewandowski. Thus, it is a boost for Manchester United in the Haaland transfer race.

Of course, there is still expected to be a tremendous amount of competition for the Norwegian striker’s signature, with heavyweights from all over Europe believed to be interested.
