Another Manchester United star who has struggled for playing time recently is Anthony Martial, as he has not been able to find his form in a while.

Not too long ago, Martial was considered one of the most important players at Manchester United. It is safe to say though that times have changed.

Martial enjoyed a tremendous 2019/20 campaign, finishing as the club’s highest scorer but since then, he has struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

And now, he appears to be behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood in the striker pecking order at Manchester United.

Thus, it should not come as a major surprise that he is looking for a move away from Old Trafford as early as this January although it will be interesting to see if clubs do end up making a move. Other than Barcelona; Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Newcastle United have also been linked with the Frenchman, once considered the brightest young talent in the world.

Marcus Rashford

Out of these three, it would be the most surprising to see Marcus Rashford leave Manchester United as he still remains a big part of the club’s starting XI.

But with the other options that the Red Devils have in their squad, could he possibly see a decline in his playing time in the near future?

Jadon Sancho is slowly but surely finding his feet at Manchester United. On the other hand, Greenwood is believed to be very highly rated by Ralf Rangnick, and could get more playing time under the German coach as well. And it is almost impossible to move ahead of Ronaldo in the pecking order.

Thus, could Rashford be possibly be left as the odd man out in this scenario? It will be interesting to see over the course of the campaign. It must be pointed out though that the Englishman has been linked with a potential move to Barcelona for a long time.
