Barcelona are in need of a rebuild at this point of time after their disappointing start to the season and interestingly, they have been linked with several Manchester United players. That should not come as a massive surprise though considering how many of the Red Devils’ players have struggled for playing time recently and are believed to be looking for a move away from Old Trafford.

As things stand, Barcelona are in the Europa League, having been knocked out of the Champions League group stages, and 8th in the La Liga table.

On the other hand, Manchester United might not have made the start to the season that they were hoping for, but they do have a very deep squad, which has meant that several of their players have not played a lot of football this season.

And despite Barcelona’s recent struggles, it remains an attractive destination for players. Thus, it will interesting to see if several players end up switching Old Trafford for the Camp Nou in the coming weeks and months.

Edinson Cavani

The move that is most likely to happen out of the three is that of Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan enjoyed a great 2020/21 campaign at Old Trafford but has not been able to match last season’s performances this time around.

A huge reason for that though is the fact that he has barely featured. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has only made 8 appearances this season, which have combined for 274 minutes of football.

Thus, it is not hard to see why he might be looking for a move away and Barcelona could certainly do with a reliable goalscorer at this point of time.
