Manchester United star has accepted Barcelona’s offer

Manchester United could find themselves in a tough situation in the near future. Back in the summer, they did a tremendous job of keeping their core squad together while also adding the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton. That has produced mixed results till now though and several of the club’s players are believed to be looking for moves away having struggled to get first-team minutes this season.

Coming into the campaign, Edinson Cavani was expected to lead the line for Manchester United. It has not worked out quite that way though. Ronaldo’s return combined with the Uruguayan’s own injury problems have meant that he has not played a lot of football this time around.

He is 34 years of age though and would not be expected to want to spend the twilight years of his career sitting on the bench. Thus, he has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

And as reported by Marca, Cavani has decided to accept the offer from Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window. Now, it remains to be seen if Manchester United let him leave.

It is safe to say that Barcelona have struggled in this campaign till now. They are already out of the Champions League and sit outside of the European spots in the La Liga table right now. It is safe to say that they need to turn their season around.

The Spanish giants could do with a reliable goalscorer at the moment and it looks like Cavani is someone that they have their eyes on as a possible solution to their problems in front of goal.

Ultimately, it could come down to Manchester United. The Red Devils have some brilliant options going forward even without Cavani though in the form of Ronaldo, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
