Manchester United will look to push for a top four finish in the Premier League at the very least following the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager. And they are already well on their way in that regard, having climbed up to fifth following the win over Norwich City. Moreover, the Red Devils have the FA Cup and the Champions League to play for as well.

Although, Rangnick has been appointed as the interim manager until the end of the season, he could end up making additions to the squad in January. When his run comes to an end next summer, Manchester United are expected to go after a long-term manager. Ajax’s Erik ten Hag is someone believed to be on their radar in that regard.

It remains to be seen what the future holds. Ten Hag might have has his eyes on a Manchester United star though, as a potential signing for Ajax. Dean Henderson’s future at the club has been in doubt over the past couple of months, with David de Gea back in form and firmly placed as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Ajax are interested in signing Henderson on loan in the January transfer window.

Manchester United’s Henderson linked with potential Ajax move

Henderson has a contract at Manchester United, which runs until the summer of 2025. However, given his limited playing time this season, a move away in the near future cannot be ruled out.

Not too long ago, it had looked like Henderson had replaced De Gea as the number one between the posts, as he appeared to be ahead of the Spaniard in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pecking order in the second half of last season.

De Gea appears to be back to his best this season though and as a result, Henderson has struggled for playing time. Thus, a loan move to a club like Ajax might make sense for both Manchester United and the player.
