Manchester United appear to have turned a corner over the last few weeks. Over their last four games in all competitions, they have beaten Villarreal, Arsenal and Crystal Palace while getting a draw against Chelsea. And their performance in Ralf Rangnick’s first game in charge as interim manager have raised hopes that the Red Devils can turn their season around and make a charge for the top four.

It remains to be seen how things unfold over the coming weeks and months. But it is safe to say that the early signs are very promising.

The January transfer window will be interesting for Manchester United this time around. On one hand, they know they need to improve. But on the other, it is clear that they have one of the best squads in world football right now and made significant additions in the summer.

There were rumours that Rangnick could be handed a significant transfer kitty to improve his squad. But as reported by Give Me Sport, journalist Pete O’Rourke said regarding the situation:

"“From what I’m hearing, I’m not expecting any ins – even with Ralf Rangnick coming in. There’s such a wealth of talent at Old Trafford that he’s going to work with what he’s got and he’s pretty happy to do that as well.”"

Can Manchester United have a successful season with this squad?

Now, there is no denying that Manchester United have not enjoyed a great season till now and find themselves in a tricky situation right now.

But that is not because they do not have a good squad. Instead, it is because they have not managed to get the best out of the squad that they have right now.

The Red Devils have world-class options even on the bench in quite a few areas. The only position that they appear to be a bit weak in right now is central midfield. But even there, the recent performances of Fred have been cause for a lot of optimism. Let’s see how things unfold when the winter transfer window opens in January.
