Ralf Rangnick was finally announced as the interim manager of Manchester United till the end of the current campaign recently. The German coach is tasked with the duty to overturn a poor start to the season, as the Red Devils head towards a busy December. And the former RB Leipzig manager is expected to shake things up and bring his own style of play to the Theatre of Dreams.

Rangnick is the man who shaped the idea of Gegenpressing, as the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp have been influenced by his style of play. Several players at Manchester United could flourish under the interim manager, with Jadon Sancho being one of the likelier ones to do so.

Sancho has finally delivered for his new club recently and has scored in back-to-back away games for Manchester United.

Rangnick has been known for his ability of identifying and scouting young talents over the years. And he appears to have been an admirer of Sancho’s talents for a while now.

Rangnick’s past comments about Sancho should excite Manchester United fans

During an interview with Sky Sports in 2020 and as reported by Tribuna, Rangnick revealed what he thought about Sancho:

"“He’s one of the best wing offensive players in Europe currently.“If you look at his statistics last season in the Bundesliga he had 18 goals and 18 assists. As a winger player, those statistics are phenomenal and currently in Europe I don’t see any other player with his combination of pace, being dangerous in front of goal and ability to get assists.“He’s one of the biggest talents in Europe and Dortmund know he’s one of the most important players in their squad.”"

Rangnick also revealed that during his time at RB Leipzig, the club had tried to sign Sancho but ultimately, he ended up joining Borussia Dortmund:

"“We were scouting him for four years at Leipzig and we even met Jadon, his family and his agent three years ago.“[Then RB Leipzig manager] Ralph Hasenhuttl and myself met them in London but unfortunately he decided to then go to Borussia Dortmund.”"

Ralf Rangnick could very well get the best out of the young Englishman, who is still adapting to Manchester United.

However, one cannot question the quality that Sancho possesses. He was one of the most exciting players in the world during his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Unfortunately, his start to life at Old Trafford has not been great. But he has still made his mark in recent weeks as it appears that he slowly might be coming into his own in a Manchester United shirt.
