Jack Grealish was one of the most highly-rated players in the Premier League during his time at Aston Villa and Manchester City broke a record this summer when they signed him for a transfer fee believed to be around £100 million, making him the most expensive player in Premier League history.

Before joining Manchester City though, it is believed that he was close to a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2020. That ultimately did not happen and he stayed at Aston Villa.

Since joining Manchester City, Grealish has had his fair share of problems and has not made the impact that most would have been expecting. These are still early days for him in Pep Guardiola’s side though and he is expected to improve over the coming months.

Erling Haaland

Arguably the most exciting talent in world football right now, Erling Haaland has been nothing short of sensational over the last few years. He first rose to prominence with his stunning performances for RB Salzburg in the Champions League.

Since then, he has moved to Borussia Dortmund and established himself as one of the best strikers in all of football.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Haaland has scored 71 goals and provided 26 assists in 73 appearances for Borussia Dortmund till now. Those are astounding figures, especially for someone who is still just 21 years of age and would be expected to improve significantly over time.

Before joining Borussia Dortmund though, Haaland was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and there have been suggestions that a move was not too far away before ultimately failing to materialise. In hindsight, that was a huge opportunity missed for the Red Devils.

Haaland had already played under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during their time together at Molde and that was a huge reason he was linked with Manchester United consistently. Now, it will be interesting to see what the future holds.
