Manchester United handed Ousmane Dembele transfer boost
Unexpectedly, Manchester United appear to find themselves in need of another rebuild. And while it might not be nearly as tough as it was the last time around, it is safe to say that the club have taken a step back this season. Many expected them to compete in the Premier League title race this time around but that has not been the case. Instead, they sit at 8th in the table right now, already 12 points off the top.
That is certainly surprising considering the fact that they signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton over the summer. As a result, the Red Devils would be expected to strengthen their squad even further in future transfer windows.
One player that they have been linked with several times in the past is FC Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele. And now, it appears that Manchester United have been handed a transfer boost if they decide to pursue the Frenchman’s signature in the future.
As reported by Sport, Dembele wants to leave FC Barcelona next summer as a free agent and has rejected the renewal offer because he has better proposals from foreign clubs.
Manchester United have been handed Dembele transfer boost
Dembele’s current deal with FC Barcelona runs out next summer. And it looks like he might be set to become a free agent unless things change between now and then.
But the big question is, do Manchester United even need to sign Dembele at this point of time, considering the squad that they have?
Not too long ago, Dembele was expected to become one of the best players in world football, which is the reason why FC Barcelona signed him following Neymar’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain. But a series of injuries have meant that he has never found his feet at the Camp Nou.
Still 24 years of age though, he has plenty of time to fulfil his unquestionable potential if he can stay away from injuries.
