To be honest, Cristiano Ronaldo has struggled a bit in the Premier League in recent games, which is a massive reason why Manchester United find themselves sitting at eighth. But when it comes to the Champions League, he has had no such problems.

Arguably the greatest player in the history of the competition, he has scored in every game this season till now and that run continued away against Villarreal as well, as he opened the scoring on the night.

Many have questioned whether bringing in Ronaldo was the right decision or not. There is no question though that he is the biggest reason that they have already booked their place in the Champions League knockout phase this season, something that they failed to do last time around.

And if Manchester United are to turn their season around from here on, the Portuguese legend will have a huge part to play.

Jadon Sancho finally takes his chance

Jadon Sancho arrived with a lot of expectations in the summer. Manchester United had been linked with the English international for years and they finally managed to get a deal over the line this time around and brought him to Old Trafford.

Sancho was one of the most exciting and effective wingers in world football during his time at Borussia Dortmund. But it is safe to say that his time at Manchester United has not gone as most would have envisioned, till now.

He had not either scored or assisted for the club before tonight but took his chance against Villarreal, finding the back of the net.

One can only hope that this is the start of Sancho finding his form in a Manchester United shirt and that will be an exciting thought for the club’s fans for sure.
