With Manchester United showing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the exit door following their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Watford, several managers have been linked with the Old Trafford job as expected. Luis Enrique is one of them and some rumours have even suggested that he is the man Cristiano Ronaldo would want in the managerial hot seat. And it is not hard to see why judging by his record through the years.

Enrique had a brilliant spell at FC Barcelona, winning several trophies and even guiding them to a Treble. And then, he has done a wonderful job with the Spain national team as well, who once again look like one of top international sides in world football.

And through all of this, his teams have played some wonderful football. Thus, someone like Enrique is definitely an interesting name to consider for the Manchester United job.

But it does not look like he has any interest in leaving the Spanish national side anytime soon. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, he told La Sexta when asked about the Manchester United links:

Enrique does not appear to be interested in Manchester United job

A move for Enrique in the immediate future does not appear to be on the cards. But there are several other names that Manchester United have been linked with in recent times.

Zinedine Zidane, Mauricio Pochettino, Erik ten Hag, Laurent Blanc, Ralf Rangnick, Brendan Rodgers and several others are believed to be potential targets at the moment.

For now, the feeling is that the club will look to bring in an interim manager to guide them until the end of the season before finding a long-term solution next summer. But as we all know, things can change very quickly in football and the right manager becoming available might accelerate Manchester United’s plans.
