Cristiano Ronaldo’s choice for new Manchester United manager
Manchester United find themselves in need of a new manager and we are just in November. The club’s start to the campaign has left a lot to be desired as the Red Devils currently sit at eighth in the Premier League table and are already out of the League Cup. The only silver lining to this campaign till now is that they sit at the top of their Champions League group and even there, things are tricky.
As a result, the club decided to show Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the exit door after their 4-1 defeat against Watford this weekend. Michael Carrick will take charge of the team, as Manchester United search for an interim manager to guide them till the end of the season.
As a result, it looks like it is next summer when they will be looking to bring in a long-term solution and several top names have been linked with the Old Trafford hot seat in recent weeks.
Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be keen on current Spain national team manager, Luis Enrique, to become the new Manchester United manager. As tweeted out by Rob Dorsett:
Ronaldo wants Enrique to become the new Manchester United manager
It is safe to say that Enrique is one of the most highly regarded managers in world football right now. He was spectacular during his time at FC Barcelona, even guiding them to a Treble and is doing a good job with the Spain national team as well.
As a result, Enrique could certainly be an interesting choice to be the new Manchester United manager but it does not feel like an immediate move is on the cards.
Other names like Brendan Rodgers, Zinedine Zidane, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, Laurent Blanc, Ralf Rangnick and several others have been linked with the Old Trafford job in recent times as well.
