Manchester United have been in the middle of a terrible run of form. But even then, not many could have seen the 4-1 defeat against Watford coming. Fans believed that this could have been the game for the Red Devils to turn their season around, after the international break, and go on a good run of results. Unfortunately, it appeared to go in the completely opposite direction and this feels like the lowest till now, in a season that has been full of lows.

As a result, it is only natural that questions are being raised about the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the managerial hot seat at Old Trafford.

It is easy to understand why the club have been reluctant to make a change despite some of the recent results. But now many rumours are suggesting that it is only a matter of time.

One of the managers who has been heavily linked with the club in recent weeks is Zinedine Zidane. And if the club were to indeed part ways with Solskjaer, the Frenchman could be the perfect replacement.

Manchester United: 3 reasons why Zidane should be the next manager

Here are three reasons why Zinedine Zidane should be the next Manchester United manager, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future in doubt:

Experience of turning a season around

It might have been forgotten by now, but when Zidane was first appointed as the Real Madrid manager, the club were going through a rough season and he was brought in to steady the ship after Rafa Benitez was shown the exit door.

He steadied the ship and then some, guiding Real Madrid to the Champions League title, in what turned out to be the first of their three straight wins in Europe’s elite competition.

Thus, the Frenchman clearly has the experience of turning things around for a club, and that is exactly what Manchester United will need someone to do after their start to the season.
