PSG decision hands Manchester United Zinedine Zidane problem

Manchester United find themselves in a very tough spot right now, after enduring a difficult start to the season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might very well be walking the managerial tightrope at the moment, with several other managers being linked with the Old Trafford job as his potential replacement. One of those names is that of Zinedine Zidane, who would probably be a dream appointment in the eyes of the fans.

One of the greatest players in the history of the game, Zidane created history as a manager as well, guiding Real Madrid to three straight Champions League titles. And he had a decent second stint with the Spanish giants as well under difficult circumstances.

Zidane did end up leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season and currently finds himself without a team. Thus, the name of Manchester United has been floated about as a possible destination, as well as that of Paris Saint-Germain.

And as reported by Le10sport, the subject of Mauricio Pochettino is something that has been discussed behind the scenes at Paris Saint-Germain, who are keeping an eye on Zidane.

Paris Saint-Germain enjoyed one of the best transfer windows in football history this summer. And they were expected to completely dominate in France as well as in Europe this season.

That has not been the case till now though. The trio of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have not quite got it going, and while they find themselves in a good spot in Ligue 1, their performances have left a lot to be desired. And in Europe, they have looked nowhere as good as was expected.

Thus, questions have been raised about Pochettino’s future and it is possible that they could turn towards Zidane if things don’t improve in the future.

That hands Manchester United a problem, as they have been linked with the Frenchman as well. Although, it could potentially give them the chance to bring in Pochettino at the same time.

Of course, there are a lot of variables surrounding the situation. For the time being, Solskjaer is the Manchester United manager, Pochettino is the Paris Saint-Germain manager and Zidane is a free agent.
