Zinedine Zidane is arguably the dream managerial target for Manchester United at this point of time, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Old Trafford future in doubt. The Frenchman proved his quality as a manager during his two stints with Real Madrid. The first one was a historic success, as he guided the team to three straight Champions League titles, as they established themselves as one of the greatest club teams ever assembled.

And while the second stint might not have brought similar success, it was certainly a solid effort considering the circumstances.

Zidane is without a club at the moment though, after having left Real Madrid at the end of last season. Naturally, he has been linked with the Manchester United job, after the Red Devils’ disappointing start to the campaign.

But it does not look like the Frenchman will be in the Manchester United dug out anytime soon. As tweeted out by Christian Falk, Zidane has let the board know that he does not feel ready for the Premier League at the moment and prefers to take a break until the summer.

The situation surrounding Zidane is interesting to say the least. Some rumours have suggested that he does not want to manage in the Premier League at all. Others have suggested that he is keeping an eye on the Old Trafford job.

While Manchester United are believed to be interested in bringing in the manager, Zidane has been linked with the France national team as well as Paris Saint-Germain.

Of course, he is not the only manager who has been linked with Manchester United in recent weeks. Names like Brendan Rodgers, Erik ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino, Ralf Rangnick, Luis Enrique and a few others have done the rounds as well as potential candidates to replace Solskjaer.
