Manchester United bolstered their forward ranks massively with the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window. It was a surprise, but a welcome one, when the club were able to bring the legend back to Old Trafford. And naturally, he has been a regular feature in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting XI since then.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Ronaldo has scored 9 goals in 12 appearances across all competitions for Manchester United this season till now. And while there is no doubt that he should be starting, his arrival has narrowed the playing time for some of the other forwards already at the club.

As a result, rumours have started linking a few of them with moves away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window. One of them is Anthony Martial.

Martial has not been able to find his scoring boots since enjoying a stellar 2019-20 season, when he finished as Manchester United’s highest goal scorer for the campaign. He struggled last season to find the back of the net on a consistent basis and this time around, opportunities have been hard to come by for the Frenchman.

Juventus linked with move for Manchester United star in January

As reported by Calciomercato, Manchester United could offer Juventus the chance to sign Martial in the January transfer window. But it looks like a loan move with an option to buy could suit the Italian side more at this point of time.

Not too long ago, Martial was one of the most highly-rated youngsters in world football and was expected to be one of the pillars of Manchester United in the future.

While the talent has never been in question with Martial, consistency has been an issue for sure. And now, it looks like he could be on his way out of Old Trafford in the near future although it remains to be seen how things go.
