Zinedine Zidane has been linked with the Manchester United job for a while now although there has been a lot of confusion around the Frenchman’s situation. Some rumours have suggested that he is not interested in the Old Trafford job, while others have suggested that he is keeping an eye on the situation.

Whatever may be the case, it looks like the Red Devils will at least try to make it happen, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club up in the air following a disappointing start to the season, which sees Manchester United sit at sixth in the Premier League table right now.

As reported by The Times, Manchester United are working to persuade Zidane to succeed Solskjaer and the club’s hierarchy are hopeful that the Frenchman’s close relationships with Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane can help to convince him to join.

It remains to be seen what will happen regarding that but for the time being, Solskjaer remains the man in the Old Trafford managerial hot seat.

Zidane could be the perfect fit for Manchester United

Zidane has shown his quality as a manager already, having guided Real Madrid to a historic three straight Champions League titles at one point of time. And while his second stint with the club might not have been as successful, he did quite a good job considering the circumstances that the club found themselves in.

Zidane is without a club at the moment, having left Real Madrid at the end of last season. And it is not hard to see why Manchester United might try to bring him to Old Trafford.

Not only do his achievements as a manager speak for themselves but there is also the fact that he has steadied the ship at Real Madrid in the past and will know what it takes to do that.
