It has been a season of one step forward, two steps back for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United. A 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend had provided hope that they could be back on the right track. But a 2-2 draw against Atalanta and a 2-0 defeat against Manchester City since then means that questions will surely be asked about the Norwegian manager’s future at Old Trafford once again.

Solskjaer has been the manager of Manchester United for almost three years now. And while they have had some strong Premier League finishes during that period of time, they are yet to win a trophy.

That must have been the target coming into this season and after signing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho over the summer, many believed that Manchester United were ready to compete for the Premier League title.

11 league games in and it looks like they might struggle to even finish in the top four and they might have very little choice but to make a change in the managerial hot seat if things don’t improve quickly.

One of the greatest players in the history of the game, Zidane proved himself as a manager as well during his time at Real Madrid.

During his first stint with the Spanish club, he guided them to a historic three straight UEFA Champions League titles. And while his second stint might not have brought similar amount of success, it was still solid considering the circumstances.

At the moment, he is without a club though, having left Real Madrid at the end of last season. And while he has been linked with the France national team job, there have been some encouraging rumours that he might be open to the Manchester United job as well.
