Cristiano Ronaldo completed a stunning return to Manchester United this summer, over a decade after leaving the club. There were many questions though about how he would adjust to English football at the age of 36. It is safe to say that he has done tremendously till now and has been one of the Red Devils’ players of the season.

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Ronaldo has scored 9 goals in 11 appearances for Manchester United this season. This includes late goals in three straight Champions League games, which have earned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side either a win or a draw.

But then, there have still been some questions about Ronaldo and what he has brought to this Manchester United side. As a team, they have appeared to take a step back this season, struggling for both results and performances. Is that just a co-incidence or have the Red Devils struggled to get it going with the Portuguese superstar in the team?

Solskjaer does not see any negative in having Ronaldo in his team though. As reported by Manchester United’s official website, the manager said:

"“How people can say that is a negative?“I can’t see one. He’s one of the best players that’s ever walked on this planet, and his impact so far – on and off the pitch – has been absolutely immense.”"

Ronaldo has been absolutely superb since arriving at Manchester United

It is hard to say what kind of an impact Ronaldo has had on this team. We will have a better picture of that come the end of the season.

But there is no denying the fact that the Portuguese legend has saved Manchester United several times already this season.

He remains a world-class goalscorer even at the age of 36 and it is upto the club to get the best out of him. The results have not been up to the mark till now, but individually, one cannot complain about Ronaldo’s contributions to this team. He has done what he was brought in to do – score goals. And it looks like he will score lots of them through the course of the campaign.
