Manchester United are coming off of two positive results. The 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur must have been a huge relief for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who could have easily ended up being shown the exit door if the Red Devils got a bad result on the day. And while the performance against Atalanta left a lot to be desired, the 2-2 draw does leave them in a strong position in their Champions League group.

Thus, the pressure on Solskjaer right now is much lesser than it was after the club suffered a 5-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford. But his position is far from secure though.

Manchester United will face Manchester City next and it is safe to say that a bad result on the day could put the pressure right back on the Norwegian manager’s shoulders.

One man who has been heavily linked with the Manchester United job, if the club decided to part ways with Solskjaer, is Zinedine Zidane. Rumours had suggested though that he was not interested in managing in the Premier League. But it looks like the Frenchman might have made a U-turn.

Zidane appears to make Manchester United U-turn

As reported by El Espanol (via The Sun), Zidane was wanted by Newcastle United but the former Real Madrid manager is waiting for situations such as Manchester United and the France team to be clarified.

It is not hard to see why Zidane is being linked with some of the biggest jobs in world football at the moment. One of the greatest players in the history of the game, he achieved tremendous success as the manager of Real Madrid as well, guiding them to three straight Champions League titles during his first stint with the club. His second stint was not as successful but very solid, considering the circumstances.

Having left Real Madrid at the end of last season, he is a free agent at the moment. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
