Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United future is pretty much up in the air at this point of time. The club have fallen far short of expectations this season till now and find themselves already out of the League Cup, sitting at seventh in the Premier League table and in a tricky position in their UEFA Champions League group.

The club are also coming off of a historic 5-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. And as a result, many fans have questioned whether Solskjaer is the man to take this team forward.

There were many rumours surrounding a possible sack following the result against Liverpool but for the time being, Solskjaer will continue on as the Manchester United manager. The pressure is on him to turn things around quickly though.

As reported by The Telegraph, Manchester United have given Solskjaer three games to save his job as the club’s manager.

Solskjaer has three games to save Manchester United job

It is understandable why Manchester United are reluctant to show Solskjaer the exit door. He remains a popular figure at the club for the most part and it is undeniable that he has brought a stability to Old Trafford since his appointment.

For years, they had bounced around the Premier League table following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. But in Solskjaer’s two full seasons as manager, they finished third and second respectively.

Also, it might be difficult to find a manager in the middle of the season, whose style of football would complement the squad that Solskjaer has assembled at Old Trafford over his near three-year stint as the club’s manager till now.

But the Red Devils might be left with no other choice but to make a change if results don’t improve soon. The fact that the next three games will be very difficult fixtures for Manchester United in the first place will not help Solskjaer either. They are against Tottenham Hotspur, Atalanta and Manchester City.
