Out of all the names that have been linked with Manchester United, Brendan Rodgers might be the most interesting one for sure.

First of all, he has managed Liverpool in the past and almost guided them to the Premier League title one season. There were questions though about whether he could deliver titles.

He appears to have picked up that habit during his time at Celtic. He turned the Scottish giants into a treble winning machine before taking over the managerial role at Leicester City. And that has been an incredible success till now as well.

He took over a Leicester City side that was struggling, in the middle of the season. They finished that campaign strong and have looked completely transformed after that.

In his two full seasons with the club, Leicester City have competed for a top four spot both times, narrowly missing out at the end both times. He has also managed to guide them to a FA Cup trophy and a Community Shield title as well.

There is no question about the fact that Rodgers is one of the best managers in the Premier League right now. Manchester United would have got a taste of that in their recent 4-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester City.

Thus, if the club are able to bring him in, it would have the potential to be a tremendous appointment. Rodgers has already proven himself in English football and might be ready to make the jump to the next level now.

Of course, there would be questions about whether he would be open to leaving Leicester City in the middle of the campaign and also, he has been suggested as the potential replacement for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City as well. Things could certainly get interesting.
