If Manchester United did decide to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at this point of time then Antonio Conte looks very much like the favourite to be his replacement.

Conte has been one of the best managers in all of Europe for a decade now and has won five league titles over his last seven seasons, with Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan.

Even more impressively, none of those sides were the favourites when he arrived and as a result, he deserves a lot of credit for how quickly he managed to bring success to those clubs.

At the moment, he is without a club though having left Inter Milan in the summer and rumours have suggested that he would be open to the Manchester United job if the opportunity did arise.

There is no question that someone like Conte could end up being a brilliant manager for the Red Devils. But there are certainly some questions about how his style would fit with this current Manchester United squad of players.

Erik ten Hag

Erik ten Hag rose to prominence a couple of seasons back after he guided Ajax through a very impressive season, which saw them reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League while playing some incredible football.

Naturally, there have been links with FC Barcelona since then but a move to Camp Nou has never transpired and he remains at Ajax till now.

The Dutch giants have struggled a bit in Europe since that incredible season but that is understandable considering that a number of their top stars departed the club after that campaign. They are doing well in the Champions League once again this season though.

Ten Hag would be a bit of an outside the box choice but he has the potential to bring a style of football to Manchester United that Conte or Zidane might not.
