The Antonio Conte to Manchester United rumours have been picking up pace following the club’s 5-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Old Trafford. The Italian is one of the best managers in world football and is without a club right now having left Inter Milan in the summer. Thus, it is not hard to see why the links have emerged between the club and the manager.
At the moment, Solskjaer remains the manager of Manchester United although there have been suggestions that the club are considering the Norwegian’s future at Old Trafford after the Red Devils’ disappointing start to the campaign despite signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton over the summer.
It will be interesting to see where things go from here but there appears to be some huge news regarding a potential appointment of Conte in case Solskjaer is sacked.
As reported by Alfredo Pedulla (via Football Italia), Manchester United have made the first contact with Conte’s management but both parties are still wary.
Manchester United have reportedly made the first contact with Conte’s management
There is some other news regarding the matter as it looks like there is no official proposal on the table yet but Conte seems to want the job. As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano:
There’s no doubt on Antonio Conte decision since days. He wants Manchester United job and he’d be ready to accept. But there’s still no official proposal on the table, as things stand tonight. 🔴 #MUFC

Manchester United are still thiking whether sacking or not Solskjær.
There is no doubt that someone like Conte could prove to be an excellent appointment on the part of Manchester United. He has joined clubs in the past who were not in good positions and guided them to massive success within a short span of a time.
Of course, everything will depend on what the club decide to do regarding the future of Solskjaer at Old Trafford. There is no doubt that Manchester United have progressed a lot since his arrival but is he still the right man for the job?
