Manchester United are coming off of a huge result in midweek as they secured a 3-2 win against Atalanta after coming back from two goals behind. It leaves them in a good position in the Champions League, top of their group with six points from the first three games although things could get interesting with away games against Villarreal and Atalanta still to be played.

Things are quite different in the Premier League though. The Red Devils will take to the pitch against Liverpool sitting at sixth in the best case scenario, eight points behind league leaders Chelsea.

And if they end up losing against Liverpool, it would be a huge blow to their Premier League title hopes.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in tremendous form though and would be eager to get all three points in order to keep the gap between themselves and Chelsea to just one point. Thus, this is expected to be a very tight affair and on current form, Manchester United would probably even view a draw as a positive result.

Manchester United handed double injury boost for Liverpool game

There is some good news for Manchester United on the injury front. Coming out of the game against Atalanta, the Red Devils had quite a few injury doubts.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Bruno Fernandes has teamed up with the squad and was pictured arriving at their pre-match Lowry Hotel base. Marcus Rashford has also been pictured around the hotel.

There were doubts whether either of the two would be involved against Liverpool and thus, this will be a huge boost for Solskjaer’s side.

Both Fernandes and Rashford played a huge part in Manchester United’s win against Atalanta and it remains to be seen if they can have a similar impact against Klopp’s in-form Liverpool team as well, if they do end up playing.
