Manchester United’s start to the season has been very disappointing. There were hopes that they would challenge for the Premier League title this season after the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton over the summer. But at this point of time, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side sit at sixth in the points table and as a result, questions are already being asked about the manager’s future.

Things had looked bright early on with Manchester United even sitting at the top of the Premier League not too long ago. But over the last seven games across all competitions, they have lost four times, drawn once and won just twice.

This is not the kind of form that they would have been expecting to be in at this point of the season.

Thus, many fans have questioned whether it is the right time to sack the manager and look at a replacement. But as reported by The Athletic, Solskjaer will not be sacked by Manchester United despite a disappointing run of results.

Manchester United will not sack Solskjaer despite bad run of results

While recent results have left a lot to be desired, one has to admit that the club have made a lot of overall progress since the arrival of Solskjaer as manager.

Manchester United had bounced around the Premier League table quite a bit following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, not consistently finishing in the UEFA Champions League spots.

That has not been the case since the appointment of Solskjaer as manager though. In his two full seasons at Old Trafford, the Red Devils have finished third and second respectively.

Thus, it is understandable that Manchester United want to give him every chance possible to succeed. We are still very early in the season and a run of good form will put the club back in the title race once again. But there is no question about the fact that results need to improve and quickly.
