Coming into the season there were hopes that Manchester United could compete for the Premier League title this season. And on paper, their squad did seem ready to be one of the frontrunners in the title race with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. Things have not quite worked out that way till now though.

Those three sides have made fantastic starts to their campaigns and find themselves sitting at first, second and third respectively at this point of time. Manchester United have slipped quite a few times in recent weeks though.

Not too long ago, they were at the top of the table but now, they find themselves sitting at fifth. And they could slide further down the table depending upon the results in the upcoming games in the Premier League.

It is not where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side would want to be and Manchester United must solve one huge problem as soon as possible if they are to turn this season around and hopefully make a comeback in the Premier League title race.

Manchester United have to solve their biggest problem as soon as possible

On paper, Manchester United have one of the best squads in world football right now. Other than perhaps defensive midfield, there is no other position on the pitch that they need to make more additions in.

But at the moment, it appears that this team has just not gelled together. Many have questioned whether they have taken a step back as an attacking team following Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival. But it also has to be pointed out that they did concede four goals today.

There appear to be problems all over the pitch. And while they have plenty of individual talent, it just does not seem like they are working well as a unit right now. Thus, they do not have the results to show till now. On the other hand, teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City seem much more settled.

That is the biggest challenge in front of Solskjaer at the moment. And he needs to find a solution as soon as possible.
