Manchester United superstar could make surprise return vs Leicester City

Manchester United have a lot of worries going into the match against Leicester City. On one hand, this is the start of arguably the toughest phase of their season. After the Foxes, the Red Devils will face Atlanta twice, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur over the following five games. And it is safe to say that this series of games could end up having a huge impact on their 2021/22 campaign.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s biggest worry going into these games will be the availability of players. Both Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire could miss the game through injuries.

Varane picked up an injury while featuring for the France national team in the UEFA Nations League final. On the other hand, Maguire has already been out of action with an injury for a few weeks.

On top of that, the players featuring in the upcoming game between Brazil and Uruguay were also expected to miss the game at King Power Stadium but it looks like that could possibly change. As reported by the Daily Mail, Premier League clubs have chartered a private jet to ensure that their South American players are back for the weekend. Manchester United are understood to be one of the teams involved.

Cavani could feature but Fred will still miss Manchester United vs Leicester City

Under new rules, Cavani can feature vs Leicester City. But Fred will have to quarantine as Brazil played their first qualifier in Colombia, who remain on the red-list.

Of course, it will be a race against time as the difference between the Brazil vs Uruguay game ending and the Manchester United vs Leicester City kick off is only around 36 hours.

Cavani has not featured a lot for Manchester United this season in the first place. That has been due to a combination of injury problems and Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in the summer.

It remains to be seen how Manchester United line up against Leicester City but there is no doubt about the fact that it will be a very important game for Solskjaer’s side.
