Manchester United’s recent results have left a lot to be desired. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were expected to be one of the frontrunners in the Premier League title race this season but have slipped down from first to fourth over the past several weeks. They are also already out of the League Cup and in a tough spot in their Champions League group after the first two games in the competition.

And it looks like things are only going to get tougher for the Red Devils as they head into one of the toughest phases of their season. Over the next six games, Manchester United will take on Atalanta twice, Leicester City, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Thus, this could very well prove to be one of the defining run of games of their 2021/22 campaign. It will begin with an away trip to Leicester City this weekend. There is some bad news for Manchester United heading into the game though.

Varane recently got injured while representing the France national team and is expected to miss a few weeks of action. And as reported by Manchester Evening News, Maguire is expected to miss out against Leicester City.

It is safe to say that the circumstances are far from ideal for Manchester United right now. They look set to miss their two first-choice centre-backs against Leicester City.

It is a game that Solskjaer’s side need to win. They have not been in good form lately and have won just two of their last six games across all competitions.

Thus, it is clear that they need to build up some momentum and return to form if they are to compete in the Premier League title race this season. Otherwise, teams like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City could start opening up a points gap.
