Ever since returning to Manchester United from Juventus in 2016 for a then world record transfer fee, Paul Pogba has had an up and down time at Old Trafford. He has been linked with a move away from the club several times till now and with his contract running out next summer, it it safe to say that his future is pretty much up in the air at the moment.

Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are believed to want to keep the World Cup-winning midfielder. He is an important member of the current team and has made a brilliant start this season.

Pogba is yet to put pen to paper on a contract extension but it does appear that he is now open to the prospect of doing so, which didn’t appear to be the case not too long ago.

As reported by L’Equipe (via Daily Star), Pogba is telling his close friends that he wants to stay at Manchester United on a long-term basis.

Pogba reportedly wants to remain at Manchester United

Pogba has made a fantastic start to the current campaign and is playing some of his best football in a Manchester United shirt right now. In fact, in the first matchweek of the campaign, he provided 4 assists against Leeds United.

If the Red Devils are to keep Pogba at the club though, they might have to make him one of the highest paid players in Premier League history.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been heavily linked with the French midfielder in recent times while the names of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have cropped up as well with regards to a possible move next summer. But at the moment, it does feel like the French midfielder might be leaning more towards remaining at the Theatre of Dreams rather than leaving. But, it remains to be seen what the future holds.
