It is safe to say that Manchester United have not made the start that most fans would have expected this season. The Red Devils entered the campaign with a lot of expectations having finished second in the Premier League last season and signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton this summer. They have had quite a few stumbles recently though.

The Red Devils lost their opening game of the UEFA Champions League group stage campaign at the hands of Young Boys. Then, they were knocked out of the League Cup by West Ham United. And last weekend, their unbeaten run in the Premier League this season came to an end against Aston Villa.

Naturally some questions have been raised about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at the club after they have lost three of their last four games. But it looks like Manchester United have a firm stance on the future of the Norwegian manager.

As reported by ESPN, Solskjaer has the unequivocal support of the Glazer family and Ed Woodward and remains the man that they expect to bring success to the club.

Solskjaer looks set to remain at Manchester United for the foreseeable future

While recent results have been disappointing and the club have not won a trophy during the time of Solskjaer as Manchester United manager, it must be said that they have made a lot of progress as well.

Following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United had bounced around the Premier League table for quite a few years. It is only after the arrival of Solskjaer that they have gained some stability in that regard.

They finished third in the Premier League in his first full season as manager, second in the following one and there are expectations that they will be in the title race this time around. They have also come close to winning a trophy in the past but just have not managed to get past the final hurdle.
