Manchester United have had their fair share of injury worries in recent times. But the Red Devils have one of the best squads in world football at the moment. As a result, they have been able to navigate through things quite well and without many problems. The start to the season has been very promising despite a defeat in their Champions League group stage opening game against Young Boys.

Their domestic form has been brilliant. After the first 5 Premier League games, Manchester United sit joint top of the table with 13 points, although Chelsea and Liverpool have a better goal difference than them at this point of time.

Overall though, there is a lot of cause for optimism. And recently, there has been a lot of positive news on the injury front as well.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Alex Telles will be in the squad when the club face West Ham United in the League Cup on Wednesday. As reported by Manchester United’s official website, the manager said:

"“Alex has worked well and will be in the squad as well.”"

Telles will finally return to Manchester United squad after injury

Telles picked up an ankle injury in pre-season and has been out of action since. He recently returned to training though and has now worked his way back to a level of fitness where he will be a part of the squad.

While Solskjaer did not comment on whether he will start or not, that does feel unlikely considering he has been out of action for quite a while.

Telles’ return will be a welcome boost for Manchester United. With him back, there will be more opportunities to give Luke Shaw a rest here and there. The English left-back has been absolutely brilliant over the past season or so but has also played a lot of football and there could be fatigue issues down the line. On the other hand, Telles is a great left-back in his own right and deserves minutes of the pitch to show what he can bring to the table at Old Trafford.
