Things are looking up for Manchester United at the moment. They have enjoyed a brilliant start to the Premier League season and currently sit joint top of the table with Chelsea and Liverpool, although those two clubs have a better goal difference than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at this point of time. But overall, there is a lot of cause for optimism around Old Trafford right now.

The same cannot be said for FC Barcelona though. Both Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann departed Camp Nou this summer and it could turn out to be a tough season for them. It does look like that they have big plans for next summer though and appear to have a Manchester United superstar on their transfer radar.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Paul Pogba is someone who FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta really likes and wants to reinforce their midfield.

Pogba’s current deal with Manchester United runs out at the end of this season and it remains to be seen whether he will extend his contract or not. Other than FC Barcelona, he has also been heavily linked with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in recent times as well.

Could Pogba leave Manchester United next summer?

Pogba has been linked with an Old Trafford exit several times through the course of his second stint at the club but nothing has materialised yet. Next summer would be different though as he could be a free agent at that point of time.

There have been rumours that he is leaning more towards staying at the club after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival in the summer but it does feel like his future could ultimately depend on how Manchester United end up doing this season.

If they fail to win a trophy for the fifth straight season, then it should not come as a surprise if Pogba does leave. But if they are able to secure silverware this time around, he might end up extending his Manchester United contract.
