Manchester United have not won a trophy in four seasons now and that needs to change as soon as possible. The club came very close last season as they finished second in the Premier League and lost the Europa League final against Villarreal on penalties. But at the end of the day, they could not bring any silverware to Old Trafford despite the progress shown through the course of the campaign.

There is a lot of hope though that that streak could come to an end this time around. Not only do some of the club’s players have more experience under their belts now to deal with different situations but Manchester United also signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton this summer.

Not only did the club add brilliant players to their squad but they added a lot of winning experience as well. Varane, for example, won everything that there was to win at Real Madrid and has also won a World Cup with the France national team.

The defender knows it will be a big challenge to take Manchester United back to the top but he appears confident. As reported by Sky Sports, he said:

"“It’s a big challenge to get Manchester United back to the top but I feel people want to win, people want to do great things with this club, and that’s a big motivation for me.”"

Things are certainly looking up for Manchester United. While they did lose their UEFA Champions League group stage opening game against Young Boys, other than that they have been brilliant this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side sit at the top of the Premier League after four games with 10 points. While Chelsea and Liverpool have the same number of points and goal difference as well, the Red Devils have scored more goals than them till now.

Of course, there are still a number of areas that this team could improve in moving forward. But there is a lot of excitement about what is to come this season. That has not been the case at Old Trafford for a while and is very promising to see.
