Son Heung-min makes Manchester United admission
It is safe to say that Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the entire world. And it is very possible that when it comes to global fanbase, they might have the biggest despite their struggles following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
One of the club’s most popular players from the past, Park Ji-sung, appears to have a fan in the form of current Tottenham Hotspur superstar, Son Heung-min, who has admitted that he was a Manchester United fan growing up.
Son is one of the best players not just at Tottenham Hotspur but in the entire Premier League right now. He has been brilliant ever since joining The Lilywhites in 2015.
While speaking on Pro:Direct Soccer and as reported by HITC, Son said:
"“Manchester United because obviously Ji-Sung was playing. He is a national hero.”"
He is a Tottenham Hotspur player now so he admitted that he cannot support the Red Devils now:
"“He was the first one who played in the Premier League, so I was supporting United, but I can’t now.”"
Son has made Manchester United admission
It is safe to say that Son is one of the best players in the Premier League right now. He joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee believed to be around £22 million and since then, he has gone on to grow into one of their most important players.
According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 109 goals and provided 64 assists in 284 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur.
Thus, he is not far away from breaking into their top 10 all-time goalscorers list. And at 29 years of age, he is in his prime as a footballer and would be expected to get there in the near future.
Someone like Son could have been a great fit in a team like Manchester United. He has already shown that he can perform at a high level both in the Premier League and in Europe. But at this point of time, it does not feel like he will be leaving Tottenham Hotspur anytime soon.
