Manchester United handed huge Paul Pogba contract boost
Paul Pogba is in the final year of his current deal with Manchester United. As a result, it is believed that the Red Devils are looking to extend his current deal as soon as possible. While he has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in recent times, it looks like things might have changed a bit following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at the Theatre of Dreams.
Pogba has made an incredible start to the 2021/22 campaign. According to stats from Premier League’s official website, he has provided 7 assists in just 4 appearances this season. Interestingly, he has already provided more assists this season than he did in three of his previous five seasons with Manchester United.
And now, it looks like the club’s hopes of the Frenchman staying at Old Trafford beyond this season have been handed a massive boost.
As reported by The Athletic, Pogba is thought to be leaning towards staying at Manchester United following Ronaldo’s incredible second debut for the Red Devils, against Newcastle United.
Manchester United have been handed massive Pogba contract boost
If Pogba does end up staying at Old Trafford, it will be a huge boost for the club. On top of his game, the Frenchman is one of the best midfielders in world football and right now, he is playing some of his best football in a Manchester United shirt.
Of course, things could change in the future but it is very promising that he might be leaning towards staying at the club. One has to feel though that he will take his time and see how the season turns out before making a decision.
During his time at Manchester United, Pogba has won only two major trophies till now – the Europa League and the League Cup. But following the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Ronaldo arriving at Old Trafford combined with the improvement that the team has shown over the past couple of seasons, and it does feel like the future is bright for the Red Devils.
