Manchester United have made a solid start to their Premier League campaign, having picked up 7 points from their first three games of the season. And things are only looking up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side moving forward.

After completing a sensational return to Old Trafford this summer, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to make his second debut for the Red Devils when they face Newcastle United.

Thus, this could very possibly be a special occasion and one that fans have been looking forward to for a while.

There have been quite a few injury worries heading into the game but it does look like Jadon Sancho has recovered from the knock that he picked up while away with the England national team and is available for selection.

Manchester United Predicted XI vs Newcastle United

Here’s how we think Manchester United could line up against Newcastle United in what is expected to be Ronaldo’s second debut for the Red Devils:

David de Gea

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Harry Maguire

Raphael Varane

Luke Shaw

Paul Pogba

Nemanja Matic

Mason Greenwood

Bruno Fernandes

Jadon Sancho

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Red Devils could go into the game with a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Ronaldo playing up front. Greenwood, who has been in brilliant form this season, could start on the right flank while Sancho starts on the left-wing. Fernandes would be expected to play in his familiar number 10 role.

Pogba and Matic could end up playing as the double pivot in midfield. While the Frenchman has started further up the pitch this season till now, with the arrival of Ronaldo, he is expected to move a bit down and this is the role that he could end up playing on most occasions moving forward.

The combination of Maguire, Varane, Shaw and Wan-Bissaka is the strongest backline that the Red Devils most probably have at the moment. And finally, De Gea would be expected to start in goal, especially after his brilliant performance in the previous game.
