Paul Pogba continues his sensational form

At the start of the summer transfer window, there were questions about whether Pogba would remain at Old Trafford this season. He has remained at the club although he is yet to sign a contract extension.

And considering the kind of football that he has been playing this season, the Red Devils would want him to extend his current deal as soon as possible.

He provided four assists in the Premier League season opener against Leeds United, before setting up another in the game against Southampton. And he provided a couple of assists against Newcastle United as well, to make it 7 from just 4 Premier League games this season.

That’s more assists than he has provided in 3 of his previous 5 Premier League seasons since returning to Manchester United in 2016 in a then world record transfer deal!

At the top of his game, the Frenchman is one of the best midfielders in the world. And he is certainly playing like one at the moment.

Cristiano Ronaldo gets it done, once again

One could argue that Ronaldo was not at his best against Newcastle United. But like so many times in his legendary career, he managed to make the difference.

Freddie Woodman probably could have done better with both of the goals, with him spilling the first one in the path of the Portuguese superstar while the second one went through his legs. But Manchester United fans will be delighted as long as the goals keep coming.

Many have wondered whether at 36 years of age, Ronaldo will be able to adjust to the Premier League. Two goals from his first game back is certainly a brilliant start.

There will be tougher tests ahead but if Ronaldo can continue to find the back of the net throughout the course of the season then Manchester United must be considered as one of the favourites for the Premier League title this season.
