Wayne Rooney makes exciting Manchester United prediction
Few people will know what it takes to succeed at Manchester United better than Wayne Rooney. Thus, his recent prediction about the club’s upcoming season following Cristiano Ronaldo’s return is certainly very exciting to say the least.
The greatest goalscorer in the history of the club, Rooney was a part of one of the most successful Manchester United teams of all-time. But then, he was also a part of the team for quite a few years following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. Thus, it is safe to say that he has been through it all at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Red Devils have not won a trophy now in four seasons. In fact, they won their last trophy in Rooney’s last game for the club, the 2016/17 Europa League.
Rooney though believes that the club are now ready to make a title challenge and that Ronaldo can have an enormous impact on this side. As reported by the Mirror, he said:
"“An enormous one. He’s one of the best players in the world.“We saw, in the game against Ireland, what he does. Last couple of minutes, he scores a couple of goals, great headers, so he can have a massive impact on the Premier League.“I think United are finally ready to go and challenge for the title, and I really feel they have to, this year.“So Cristiano’s going to be a very big player, I think he’s going to have big moments in the season and I’m sure he’ll score a lot of goals.”"

Rooney believes Manchester United are ready to challenge for the title
The Red Devils have certainly made a lot of progress over the course of the past couple of years under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Last season, they came very close to ending their trophyless streak, having finished second in the Premier League and runners up in the Europa League.
With the signings that the club have made this summer though, it is very possible that they could end up challenging for the Premier League this season.
Other than Ronaldo, the club have also brought in Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton while no first-team regulars have departed Old Trafford. Thus, it is safe to say that the squad is much stronger this time around than it was last season and the future looks very bright for the Red Devils.
