Manchester United made some incredible additions to their squad in the recently-concluded summer transfer window, having signed Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had finished second in the Premier League last season and must be considered as genuine title contenders this time.

While the Red Devils have one of the best squads in world football right now, one area that they could still do with signings in is midfield.

Many fans felt that it is in the middle of the park that the club needed to strengthen in over the summer but a signing was not made there. But it does look like the club have their eyes on future transfer targets already.

As reported by ESPN, Manchester United remain keen on West Ham United’s Declan Rice as a striker and a midfielder are on the list ahead of next summer.

Manchester United reportedly remain keen on Rice

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for Rice for a long time now. Of course, he is believed to be rated at a transfer fee around £100 million by West Ham United, which has made any potential move difficult.

If a move is to take place in the future, West Ham United might possibly have to bring that transfer fee down. It goes without saying though that Rice is a great midfielder and would be a brilliant addition to almost any team in the Premier League.

At the age of 22, he has already established himself as a regular in the England national team and one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, the future looks bright for Rice.

The Red Devils are expected to face tough competition in any potential move for Rice with Chelsea also believed to be very interested in signing the West Ham United star, who was once part of their own youth system.
