Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return to Manchester United. This is a moment that the fans have been dreaming about ever since he left the club back in 2009 to join Real Madrid. But after over a decade, many must have felt that it was not going to ever happen.

As a result, the news that the Red Devils had agreed a deal with Juventus to bring back Ronaldo to the Theatre of Dreams came as a surprise but a welcome one.

The Portuguese superstar had already solidified himself as a club legend during his first stint at Old Trafford. And now, he will have the chance to build upon his legacy.

The fans appear to be delighted with the news and the Manchester United players appear to be the same. Jesse Lingard tweeted out:

Manchester United fans and players appear to be delighted with Ronaldo’s return

It goes without saying that Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time. Thus, him returning to the club is definitely a huge boost.

Of course, he is 36 years of age and no longer in his prime. But he is still a very effective footballer and one of the best goal scorers in the world.

Another thing about Ronaldo is that he is an absolute winner. Wherever he has been, trophies have followed. And after four seasons without a single piece of silverware, the Red Devils would be hoping that it happens at Old Trafford as well.

Naturally, there will be some questions about how he would adjust to the Premier League after being away for over a decade and also the fact that he is a very different player to the one he was in his first stint at the club. But overall, this has the potential to be a brilliant move for the Red Devils. Now, it remains to be seen how things turn out.
