Diogo Dalot certainly finds himself in an interesting position at this point of time. He had a very good pre-season for Manchester United. But with Aaron Wan-Bissaka pretty much being the first-choice right-back in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team at this point, he could very well find playing time hard to come by.

Dalot was on the bench for both of the Red Devils’ games in the Premier League this season till now but did not feature either time. As a result, it should not come as a surprise that he has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Borussia Dortmund are a club who were believed to be looking to sign him and some rumours even suggested that a move was close. But ultimately, it looks like that won’t be happening.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have made a final decision that Dalot will stay as the club and Solskjaer are very happy with him.

Dalot will stay at Manchester United

It looks like Dalot is set to stay at Old Trafford and he could certainly be a solid option for Solskjaer to have at right-back.

While Wan-Bissaka is pretty much the starter at this point of time, Dalot brings something very different to the table. And it is always good to have different types of players in the squad.

It will be interesting to see how often Dalot ends up featuring this season but him staying means that it is more than likely that the Red Devils won’t be making a move for Trippier this summer.

The club have been heavily linked with the Atletico Madrid right-back throughout the course of the summer transfer window but a move has failed to materialise till now. And now, it looks like it won’t be happening after all with Dalot staying at the club.
