Cristiano Ronaldo looks set for Manchester United return
Cristiano Ronaldo looks set to leave Juventus as we near the end of the summer transfer window. The Portuguese superstar has been linked with a move away throughout the course of the summer and it looks like it will finally happen. Could Manchester United end up bringing him back to the Theatre of Dreams?
While rumours of a move away had been floating around for a while, there was a feeling that Ronaldo was set to remain at Juventus for the season. But Harry Kane remaining at Tottenham Hotspur appears to have opened things up.
Since then, it emerged that Manchester City were open to the prospect of bringing Ronaldo to the club. Such a move would be a massive surprise though considering his legacy at Manchester United. But anything can happen in football.
And now, it looks like Manchester City are out of the race for his signature and it is Old Trafford where he could be headed back. Fabrizio Romano tweeted out:
"Manchester City have decided to LEAVE negotiations for Cristiano Ronaldo. He’s NOT joining Manchester City – club position has been so clear in the last minutes."
On the other hand, it looks like Manchester United are preparing their official contract proposal to Ronaldo. Romano tweeted out regarding the situation:
"Manchester United are preparing their official contract proposal to Cristiano Ronaldo! Jorge Mendes will receive it soon. Man Utd are “confident” now."

Ronaldo looks set for Manchester United return
It has been an incredible transfer window already. Lionel Messi joined Paris Saint-Germain earlier, Kylian Mbappe could be headed for Real Madrid as well while there are some rumours that PSG could be looking at the possibility of signing Erling Haaland in order to replace him. But Ronaldo returning to the Theatre of Dreams would be as big a move as any.
It has been over a decade since he left the club to join Real Madrid. But there have always been rumours about a return to Old Trafford one day. And it looks like it could finally be about to happen.
Of course, a deal is not over the line yet and as we have seen already, things can change in football in the blink of an eye. But with no other clubs being linked with Ronaldo at this point of time, it looks like a return might very well be on the cards.
