This transfer window has already given football fans a lot of unbelievable moments. But could the biggest one take place near the end? Despite his legendary status at Manchester United, it looks Cristiano Ronaldo could be closing in on a move to Manchester City.

The Juventus star has been linked with a transfer all summer, but it is only recently that the Manchester City rumours have picked up pace after it became clear that Harry Kane was set to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier in the transfer window, many people would have felt that such a move was almost unthinkable. But as reported by ESPN, Ronaldo and Manchester City are close to reaching an agreement over a sensational move.

What would Ronaldo joining Manchester City mean for Manchester United?

One has to wonder what Ronaldo joining Manchester City would mean for his legacy at Old Trafford.

It has been over a decade since the Portuguese superstar left the club to join Real Madrid but has always been fondly remembered for his time at the Theatre of Dreams, when he established himself as one of the best players in the history of the club.

In fact, there have always been rumours that the Red Devils could try to bring Ronaldo back to Manchester one day.

Now it looks like he could very possibly be set to return to Manchester, but end up playing for Pep Guardiola’s side instead, who have won absolutely everything in English football in recent years but continue to search for the UEFA Champions League title.

It is safe to say that if the move to Manchester City does end up happening, then Ronaldo would most probably not be remembered as fondly by the Manchester United fans as he has been till now. It remains to be seen how things unfold over the next few days.
