The summer transfer window will close soon, with less than a fortnight remaining in the hands of Premier League clubs to make new signings. When it comes to making new signings, Manchester United have certainly enjoyed a successful summer transfer window.
They have signed two big names so far in the form of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, while also adding Tom Heaton to the squad. As a result, the squad appears to significantly stronger than it was the last time around.
But although it has already been a successful summer transfer window for the Red Devils, they could still be looking to make more additions to their squad. Recent rumours have suggested that the club could be looking for a new central midfielder.
Aurelien Tchouameni is someone who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford recently. Fabrizio Romano has tweeted out an update on the situation though, revealing that the club are currently not working to sign Tchouameni or Corentin Tolisso, another player who has been linked with the Red Devils recently:

Manchester United are not working to sign Tchouameni currently
At this point of time, the Red Devils have the likes of Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Bruno Fernandes, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata capable of playing in the central and attacking midfield areas.
That is certainly a very talented group of players and as a result, it is possible that they might not sign a midfielder this summer after all if the right opportunity is not there to do so. They seem a bit light in the defensive midfield area though with Matic looking like the most natural option in such a role.
Tchouameni emerged as a star at AS Monaco last season and he could certainly be a very solid addition in the middle of the park for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. At the moment though, it appears that they are not working on a move for the 21-year-old. It must be pointed out that Chelsea have been heavily linked with the midfielder as well.
