Manchester United handed major Aurelien Tchouameni transfer boost
Manchester United have strengthened their squad significantly over the course of the summer transfer window, bringing the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton to Old Trafford. But it looks like they could still be looking to make more signings.
One of the areas that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with one more option in is defensive midfield. At this point of time, Nemanja Matic is perhaps the most natural defensive midfielder at the club.
But he is 33 years of age now and is not a long-term solution in the middle of the park for the Red Devils. Paul Pogba’s long-term future remains up in the air as well. And on top of that, there have been some rumours that Solskjaer could go for a change of system this season.
As reported by Express, while speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles said that both Manchester United and Juventus are interested in AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni.

Manchester United handed Tchouameni transfer boost
Juventus have just managed to sign Manuel Locatelli, which would mean that they are no longer expected to be in the transfer race for Tchouameni. Of course, that will be a boost for the Red Devils’ chances of signing the midfielder this summer.
The 21-year-old has emerged as one of the brightest midfielders in Ligue 1 recently. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 42 appearances for AS Monaco across all competitions last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 4 assists in the process of doing so.
Tchouameni is the type of player who has the potential to be a complete midfielder and he has shown glimpses of that during his time at AS Monaco already. If the Red Devils can sign him, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the club. It must be pointed out that Chelsea have been linked with a move for the French youngster as well.
