Manchester United must be commended for their summer transfer window till now. The Red Devils have done brilliantly and made quite a few significant additions to their squad by bringing in the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Tom Heaton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished second in the Premier League last season and reached the final of the Europa League as well. And with these signings, the fans will be hoping that the club can end their four season-long trophyless streak this time around. The squad appears to be much stronger this time for sure.

It must be pointed out though that a number of players have left the club on loan as well in search of playing time. And it looks like the next one to do so will be Brandon Williams.

While he enjoyed a solid 2019/20 campaign, he did not get as many first-team opportunities last season. And as reported by Manchester Evening News, Williams is on the verge of joining Norwich City on a season-long loan.

Williams appears to be closing in on a Manchester United loan exit

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Williams made 14 appearances for the first-team last season, featuring for a total of 658 minutes of football.

And considering the depth at both full-back positions at Old Trafford right now, it feels unlikely that he will get too many first-team minutes in Solskjaer’s side this season either if he was to remain at the club. As a result, a season-long loan makes a lot of sense for the 20-year-old at this stage of his career.

Capable of playing at both left-back and right-back, Williams’ versatility can be a massive asset to any club. And the youngster already has some solid experience in the top flight of English football under his belt already. Thus, he will hopefully enjoy a solid 2021/22 campaign.
