Manchester United have already strengthened their squad significantly over the course of this transfer window. But at Old Trafford one must always look towards not just the present but the future as well.
The club have made quite a reputation for themselves for signing some of the most highly-rated young talents from all around the world. And they have the opportunity to add to that reputation in the near future by signing one of FC Barcelona’s brightest young players.
Ilaix Moriba broke into the FC Barcelona first-team last season. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he made 18 appearances, scoring once and assisting thrice. But the 18-year-old has not agreed a contract extension with the La Liga giants yet and his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022. As a result, a summer transfer exit cannot be ruled out as he will become a free agent less than a year later.
As reported by 90 Min, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are three of several English clubs who have held talks over signing the teenager. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have talked with Moriba’s representatives as well. Other English clubs are believed to have been offered the chance to sign him, while the player’s camp have held talks with other clubs around Europe.

Moriba could be a terrific signing for Manchester United
Moriba showed a lot of potential during the appearances that he made for FC Barcelona last season and at 18 years of age, he is only expected to get better moving forward.
Thus, signing someone like Moriba could be a great move for Manchester United. The club have already been linked with a move for Eduardo Camavinga. The FC Barcelona youngster could prove to be a brilliant alternative.
Moriba has incredible potential and could possibly be one of the best midfielders in the world in the future. And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side could definitely do with an addition in the middle of the park. But the race for his signature will be very tough considering clubs around Europe are believed to be interested in the youngster.
